The camelback headboard and footboard are certainly traditional. Widely spaced vertical bars line up just like the changing of the guard. Scrolled inSin designs and an inverted inCin curve with a flourish. Scalloped shells grip the posts and the second curved lines of the headboard and footboard. Four mushroom capped feet blossom against the floor, with globe finials donning the tops of the posts. Yet the finish and overall design of the bed somehow come off with a modern tone. Perhaps itfts the cool metal frame. Or that the scrolls are a little too dashing for an old-fashioned palate. Whatever the case, the Kensington is designed to please.
