Lillian Full Bed

Lillian stems from the bell-shaped flower that is known for its purity. The Lillian bed is a wonderful, gleaming brass cousin to the chaste flower. A wide, sweeping frame seems to lift effortlessly from the floor. Solid cast feet root the bed while similar castings at the four upper edges provide it with an air of permanence. Four curly-cue spindles give the bed an interesting flair. Double barrel castings grace the center of both the 54-1/4in headboard and the 37-1/4in footboard. Spindles carefully line up between the sweeping curves of the connecting spindles. The Lillian is finished in Lustre Brass. The smooth surface seems almost glasslike as it shimmers its way around the clean lines of the frame. This finish is maintenance free. Bed includes complete bed frame. Imported.

Interestingly, the Kensington bed is also modern and old-fashioned--all within the same frame. The camelback headboard and footboard are certainly traditional. Widely spaced vertical bars line up just like the changing of the guard. Scrolled inSin designs and an inverted inCin curve with a flourish. Scalloped shells grip the posts and the second curved lines of the headboard and footboard. Four mushroom capped feet blossom against the floor, with globe finials donning the tops of the posts. Yet the finish and overall design of the bed somehow come off with a modern tone. Perhaps itfts the cool metal frame. Or that the scrolls are a little too dashing for an old-fashioned palate.
